The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. ... Albert Einstein

I'm a creative. I don't know how to be anything else. Everything I see, hear, smell is fuel for my muse. I've had several careers, but was never content until I found my niche.

Now, I run a home-based studio, FyreWork Designs where I freelance as a photographer, writer and designer. I wear many hats, but love what I do. I enjoy working in variety of artistic venues: digital alchemy, multi-media as well as mixed media. I often use my photography as a springboard to create fanciful images.

You'll find variety here, complete with comments as the muse sees fit. You've been warned ;-)

Oh, and in case you didn't know ... I'm a cancer survivor. Every day I wake up, I've survived!

Early Morning Sunshine ...

I love the early light. It makes getting up at the crack of dawn worth it. The coolness of night's shadow quietly gives way to the warming rays of light as the sun begins it's journey over the mountains. It's a quiet time, a time of reflection and hope. And always ... there's the magic~

Do You Believe?

Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace and power in it.
... Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I believe in magic ... it's everywhere you look. Every move we make, every flower that blooms, every living thing, is proof of the magic that permeates everything. We attract that which we focus on, so make your thoughts and actions the most positive you can ... and believe in the magic of life.

Blackbird Has Spoken ...

If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen FOR you, TO you and BECAUSE of you.
... T. Alan Armstrong

The red-winged blackbird awakens the mind with awareness. It is associated with creative energy and an ancient symbol for the feminine force and for the forces of Nature. They're often seen perching on cattails and will fiercely defend their territory.

Embrace Life ... and Sing ...

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Bridge to Everywhere

There are many little towns and hamlets through the mountains. Each has its own charm. I love taking little day trips.

As we meandered along a narrow road, we came to a little park along the water. It was a hot summer day and people were enjoying a cool, refreshing dip.

Goin' to the Chapel ...

This is a quaint little heritage church which is often used for weddings in the summer. It's bordered by fields on both sides and mountains in the background, although you can't see them in this picture. Makes for some lovely photos.

I just like the feeling of walking back in time when I drive past and wonder at the generations that have walked through those doors.

A Walk in the Park

This is a beautiful park to walk through when you just need to think. The trail goes on for miles and you can lose yourself in the beauty and peace. You never know what you'll encounter: a squirrel, someone on horseback, a bear in the creek. Each walk is an adventure.

This 'photo' has been manipulated and can also be seen on Paintbox Pictures.

On the Inside Looking Out ...

There's a parrot sanctuary near here where they take in birds that no one wants. They try and educate the public about the responsibility you undertake when you get one of these birds. They're 'will' birds. In many cases their lifespan will outlast the owners.

Although these birds are well-cared for and loved at this sanctuary, it is so sad to see the evidence of stress these intelligent birds have undergone. Some are plucked almost bare of feathers.

Storm's Coming ...

This is the view taken near where I live. Storm clouds are coming from the west. Living in the mountains, storms sometimes tend to play ring around the mountains, so you'll have splashes of sunlight with ominous clouds on the other side. Makes for some spectacular lighting. This is just the calm before the thunderstorms arrived.

From Here to Serenity ...

There are times when just sitting quietly, listening to the sound of the waves gently caressing the shore is as close to serenity as you can get. There's a wonderful sense of contentment just BE-ing. What a great place to re-energize the batteries and I'm so very grateful I live where I do.

Fire and Ice

I have always been fascinated by colour and light. Colours influence our moods. They inspire and motivate us. They add to form, while light gives them intensity.

Here are two examples of the same image. How does each one make you feel?

Time Won't Wait ...

How often do we put things off until we have more time, more money, more energy? Regrets creep in when you've let too much time go by. That is the greatest sorrow in life. Throw off the mantle of doubt ... and dance.
